In June 2026, Jing Chai presented “Innovative University Chinese Curriculum Design in a Global Context” at the conference Multiple Settings, Multiple Pathways, hosted by the Confucius Institute at University College Cork.
Using NYU Shanghai, NYU Abu Dhabi, and I Got One as examples, the talk showed how learner associations can move through visual design, games, exhibitions, and community activities before returning to the classroom with new feedback. Multiple pathways do not simply mean more events; they mean more genuine ways for learners to enter and remain in the language.
The presentation brought I Got One into a European professional network for international Chinese education, allowing experience developed across NYU’s global campuses and Shanghai communities to be discussed by educators working in other countries and teaching contexts.
