July 2026
The 17th International Conference on Chinese Language Pedagogy
Conference Presentation
In July 2026, Jing Chai and Qian Liu presented two connected studies at the 17th ICCLP held at East China Normal University. One examined the human-centered core of language education in the age of AI; the other explored smart education and community co-creation.
The first argued that AI can improve accuracy, feedback, and personalization, while experience, emotion, participation, meaning, and reciprocity still depend on human relationships. The second followed 30 international students from ten countries through urban walks, situated storytelling, and oracle-bone-script co-creation. “Action Pathways for Smart Education to Empower International Chinese Language Learning and Community Co-Creation” was included in the conference proceedings.
Both presentations arrived at one simple point: AI can make education smarter, but language remains worth learning because one person is willing to move closer to another.
The two studies entered the professional exchange of the 17th ICCLP, while “Action Pathways for Smart Education to Empower International Chinese Language Learning and Community Co-Creation” was included in the conference proceedings, turning years of community practice into a citable research output.
