字圆其说 x 西安交通利物浦大学
Inter-institution Exchange
A delegation of over 10 faculty members from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, another distinguished member of China’s S9 Sino-Foreign Universities, paid a visit to NYU Shanghai for an enriching exchange of ideas.
Throughout their visit, conversations flowed on a wide range of pedagogical innovations, from the integration of AI in the classroom to the design of community-engaged learning experiences. Yet, it was the I Got One project that sparked the most animated discussion. The methodology behind the project struck a chord with the visiting faculty, who shared the widespread challenge facing Chinese language educators: how to teach Chinese characters in ways that feel meaningful, creative, and motivating for learners.
The group was also given a preview of the project’s upcoming exhibition. As they explored the student-generated content and the intercultural interpretations at the heart of I Got One, they expressed deep admiration for the project’s originality and real-world relevance. Many left inspired, not only by the visuals and interactive elements, but by the project’s potential as a model for revitalizing character-based instruction in diverse learning environments.
