NYU Shanghai Professor Chenchen ZHAO led a 汉字小课堂 to a group of kindergarten native Chinese kids at the age when they just started to learn to read and write Chinese characters.
The event started from an introduction to the basic Chinese character forming methods, the evolution, and then showcased some creative perceptions on 汉字 from the non-native learners in the playful teaching tools designed by 字圆其说. In the end, the young students all engaged in a creative action of expressing their own interpretations of the modeern 汉字 in various visual presentations.
