Interactive Exhibition
Lekai Bookstore is a Shanghai local independent bookstore with two branches.
This joint exhibition by Lekai Bookstore and the I Got One project reimagines the possibilities of Chinese characters through through imaginative and multifaceted perspectives. It features the book series 美哉汉字 which explores the fusion of Chinese characters with traditional folk art forms such as paper-cuts and embroidery together with the intercultural perspectives on Chinese characters presented by I Got One. This convergence of traditional folk wisdom and global creativity not only reexamines the form and meaning of Chinese characters but also initiates a profound dialogue between the past traditions and the present innovation, and the East with the wilder world.
