Invited Community Workshop
In the second Dongming Community Workshop, we had 28 NYU Shanghai students pairing up with 30+ local families and went on a journey of creativity and intercultural exchange.
The workshop exercised on the Reciporical Principal for Community Engagement Learning, which is one of the research topics of the I Got One project to testify that even as beginners, langauge learners could offer invaluable insights into the target language and culture exchanges.
The participants engaged in heated conversations on family origins, name culture, perspectives on Chinese characters, the international promotion of Chinese culture, etc. and worked on an Oracle project within each group.
