how i memorize this character: the right hand side of this character kind of looks like a cliff, which reminds me of rock climbing which is an “extreme” sport.

Looking at the character I look at the tree radical and I think of the character next to it and it just looks like a bigger tree, so I look at the contrast and see how extreme it is.
